Emergency Commercial Roof Repair

The Importance of Having A Functioning Roof For Your Business

Here are some reasons why it’s important to maintain a functioning roof:

  • Makes both workers and guests feel safe and comfortable.
  • Protects against extreme weather and prevents damage to equipment and other assets.
  • Reduces the likelihood of having to pause operations until repairs are complete.

What Can Happen If Leaky Roofs And Water Damage Are Not Treated Right Away?

  • Because the majority of commercial roofs are either flat or low pitch, the slightest puncture can quickly turn into a major leak.
  • Water damage can affect more than just the roof – it can cause falling ceiling tiles with water stains.
  • When important equipment is damaged, it can result not only in financial loss but also productivity losses.
  • Damaged roofs contribute to higher utility costs as the roof is your central hub for your building’s thermal envelope.
  • Water damage can also destroy your insulation.
  • Wet floors can create a slipping hazard.

I did get a chance to inspect the roof of this church last week. There was no damage to the roof, it is actually in quite good condition since it was installed in the late 80’s or early 90’s. The leaks they are experiencing are at the flashing transitions to the stone masonry and one at a brick masonry chimney.

But I did want to tell you that I was very impressed with Austin, the young fellow that ran the lift for me. I am not sure I have ever had such a smooth and accurately-placed ride. It wasn’t the highest roof I ever had to look at, and maybe the equipment rental was newer, but still, it was refreshing to see the competence of that young fellow.
