What is your job and what does it entail?
I am an estimator/ project manager. I work on mostly steep slope projects. My specialty is sheet metal and slate projects but I bid a variety of different project.
How would you describe the team/work culture at GSM Roofing?
GSM roofing has a great reputation for solving problems always installing a very high quality roof.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
I enjoy what I do, and the people I work with.
What is something most people do not know about you?
I am an Eagle Scout, , I am an elected official, Councilman to the Borough of Ephrata. I started dating my wife when I was 16.
What music is on your playlist?
Pink Floyd , John Prime, and Fleetwood Mack
If you could meet someone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Ben Hogan, so he could me with my golf swing.
How would you describe your job to a class of kindergartners?
I try to guess how much a project will cost and how long it will take to complete.
Fun Fact:
I have been a board member of the National Slate Association for 16 years and I am currently the Senior Vice President, during that time I also served as a committee member that wrote” Slate Roofs – Design and Installation Manual” A five year project to write a 272 page book on installing slate roofs. I also just started working with the NRCA and a team of slate experts from across the county to lay the ground work for a slate roof installer Pro- Certification test. Our first step is to developed a Job Task Analysis. Later slate installers will take a written test and then install details on a mock-up. If passed they will receive a certificate as a master slater from the NRCA.
