New Commercial Roofing Construction Backed by Old-Fashioned Workmanship

New buildings need great roofs—we all know that. But when it comes to new construction, there are so many variables to juggle. Commercial roofing construction for brand-new buildings can be an afterthought, even though it’s a critical element that you shouldn’t push to the bottom of the priority pile.

If you’re an owner, project manager, or general contractor, we will work with you to choose the right new commercial roofing system, so you have one less thing to worry about when it comes to your business.

Your Priorities, Summed up in the Perfect Roof

As you plan for commercial roofing construction, what’s on your must-have list? Do you want energy efficiency? The best guarantee in the industry? Proven long life? A unique finish to your distinctive structure?

These are just the opening questions in the quest for the perfect roof for your new building. And with so many options, the possibilities are virtually limitless.

With the help of the commercial roofing construction specialists at GSM Roofing, you will have the following options to choose from:

Green Roofs

Green Roofs include roofing solutions like cooling technologies, cutting-edge insulations, vegetative roofs, rainwater harvesting, photovoltaic (solar) roofing, daylighting, and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). They help save energy and reduce heating and cooling costs.

Single-Ply Roofs

Single-Ply Roofs come with choices such as white or black membrane, glued or heat-welded seams, adhered or mechanically attached roofs, and other options including PVC, TPO, and EPDM—each of which has their own advantages and disadvantages, depending on your application.

Built-Up Roofing Systems

Built-Up Roofing Systems are some of the most durable roofing solutions available, and we’ve been using this technology on low-slope roofs since 1946. Application processes vary and include hot-mopped or cold-applied, gravel-surfaced or smooth-coated, and traditional or modified bitumen.

Shingled Roofs

Shingled Roofs’ longevity heavily depends upon the quality of the shingles used and the expertise of the roofers installing them. We offer the highest-quality shingles for your dollar with our manufacturer affiliations and never overlook a single detail when expertly applying them to your new roof.

Slate Roofs

Slate Roofs are a specialty that earned us the privilege of contributing to the updated slate installation manual for the National Slate Association. This expertise is essential when installing a slate roof—particularly when you want a distinctive historical look for your new construction.

Tile Roofs

Tile Roofs can take on several different looks, thanks to various available tile shapes, colors, and sizes. Make your new building stand out with clay, barrel-shaped, or cement tiles that offer wind and fire resistance, durability, longevity, long-term economy, and more.

Metal Roofs

Metal Roofs installed by our roofing experts can be of the custom or pre-manufactured variety. Custom new roof construction can include options like domes, standing-seam copper, and zinc panels, while pre-manufactured roofs offer benefits like affordability and many styles and color options.

Cedar Roofs

Cedar Roofs add character to any building. We have decades of experience installing cedar shake shingles over traditional lathe and plywood with a cedar breather. With all of cedar’s intricacies, it will last more than 50 years if properly installed with metal flashings, valleys, and ridge caps.

The perfect roof for your new construction is the one that checks all of your boxes. Let us work with you to name all the benefits you’re looking for in a roof for your new building—and then deliver that to you with efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and the highest-quality craftsmanship.

I did get a chance to inspect the roof of this church last week. There was no damage to the roof, it is actually in quite good condition since it was installed in the late 80’s or early 90’s. The leaks they are experiencing are at the flashing transitions to the stone masonry and one at a brick masonry chimney.

But I did want to tell you that I was very impressed with Austin, the young fellow that ran the lift for me. I am not sure I have ever had such a smooth and accurately-placed ride. It wasn’t the highest roof I ever had to look at, and maybe the equipment rental was newer, but still, it was refreshing to see the competence of that young fellow.
