Great Roof Giveaway logo

GSM Roofing and The Gooding Group Foundation are proud to give back to local communities through our annual Great Roof Giveaway contest. This year, contest entry is open from April 1, 2025, through August 10, 2025.

All 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in our local communities should enter the Great Roof Giveaway for a chance to win a new roof, roofing repairs, or related services. As always, no purchase is necessary to win.

Enter to Win the Great Roof Giveaway in Three Easy Steps

The give back by Gooding Group Foundation includes our annual Great Roof Giveaway, and you can enter your 501(c)(3) foundation by doing the following:

Step 1

“Like” & follow GSM Roofing on Facebook.

Step 2

Upload a video to your Facebook page demonstrating why your non-profit should be selected (be sure to tag GSM Roofing and include #GSMRoofingGRG2025 in the post). We encourage creativity. You may use the video to show the current state of your organization’s roof and how the damages affect its operations. Or you may explain how your non-profit impacts the community—limited to one submission per organization per year.

Step 3

Fill out the entry form below. The GSM judging panel will review submitted videos and conduct a site review of the organizations that enter the Great Roof Giveaway. The winner(s) will be selected based on the site visit results, the level of need, and the community impact that’s been demonstrated.

Giving Back to Our Neighbors

In the 2020 Great Roof Giveaway alone, GSM Roofing donated $100,000. And then three more Lancaster-County nonprofit organizations received generous donations in previous years.

American Legion Post 429

Ephrata, PA

This building has been in the Ephrata community since 1933 and needed roof repairs, so GSM Roofing donated over $2,500 in immediate emergency repairs. In addition, GSM assisted with fundraising, designed the scope of work, and provided a 10% discount on the total roof replacement cost.

Good Samaritan Services

Ephrata, PA

The affordable housing unit Good Samaritan Services purchased needed roof repairs to keep families dry.  GSM Roofing donated $2,500 toward these much-needed repairs.

Lancaster-Lebanon Habitat for Humanity

Lancaster, PA

The Habitat for Humanity was working on a project for a home buyer.  The home was in desperate need of a new roof, so GSM Roofing donated $2,500 plus dry-in materials to help keep the building dry while the interior renovations were completed.

Bethel AME Church’s Sparkman Cultural Center

Lancaster, PA

As one of the GSM Roofing’s 2020 Great Roof Giveaway winners, Bethel AME Church received $15,000 for roof repairs to their community center. While making repairs onsite, GSM recognized that the church needed a new roof. As a result, that $15,000 in repairs grew to more than $100,000 for a new roof!

The Great Roof Giveaway—Many Years Running

I did get a chance to inspect the roof of this church last week. There was no damage to the roof, it is actually in quite good condition since it was installed in the late 80’s or early 90’s. The leaks they are experiencing are at the flashing transitions to the stone masonry and one at a brick masonry chimney.

But I did want to tell you that I was very impressed with Austin, the young fellow that ran the lift for me. I am not sure I have ever had such a smooth and accurately-placed ride. It wasn’t the highest roof I ever had to look at, and maybe the equipment rental was newer, but still, it was refreshing to see the competence of that young fellow.
