GSM Roofing Memory Marchers – Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The Lancaster Walk to End Alzheimer’s went very well! The weather was perfect, the donations were over the top and we had a fabulous day. Our team raised $52,561 with a goal of $25,000 and the Lancaster Walk raised over $203,275 with a goal of $168,000! We surpassed our goals by a long shot!

The pictures show our walkers, led by GSM Memory Marchers Team Captain Reed Gooding. The GSM team was in first place for our local district and currently #14 in the nation!

Little Ella pictured here, will never get to know her “Grandma Titi,” but rest assured, Ella will be fighting right alongside the rest of our team to find a cure for Alzheimer’s. This dreadful disease has denied Ella and her cousins the privilege of really knowing their grandmother. Mary Gooding passed away on February 11, 2015. Please help Ella make sure later generations of their family have all the pleasure and love a grandmother can give her grand-kids. We will continue collecting donations here.

Thank you all for your support!

I did get a chance to inspect the roof of this church last week. There was no damage to the roof, it is actually in quite good condition since it was installed in the late 80’s or early 90’s. The leaks they are experiencing are at the flashing transitions to the stone masonry and one at a brick masonry chimney.

But I did want to tell you that I was very impressed with Austin, the young fellow that ran the lift for me. I am not sure I have ever had such a smooth and accurately-placed ride. It wasn’t the highest roof I ever had to look at, and maybe the equipment rental was newer, but still, it was refreshing to see the competence of that young fellow.
